CHEMICAL ENGG

Program Details

Total Intake : 60 (First Shift-60)

Chemical engineering occupies a unique position at the interface between molecular sciences and engineering. Intimately linked with the fundamental subjects of chemistry, biology, mathematics, and physics — and in close collaboration with fellow engineering disciplines like materials science, computer science, and mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering — chemical engineering offers unparalleled opportunities to do great things. Chemical Engineering is the most sought after branch in the state of Gujarat as it is known as Chemical Hub due to various chemical industries are there.

Chemical Engineering Department of Sir Bhavsinhji Polytechnic Institute was started recently in 2009. As a separate Department, its potential has been recognized as a rich resource of well trained Chemical Engineers. Sanctioned intake is 60. It covers technical aspect of process heat transfer, mass transfer, fluid flow operation, mechanical operation, industrial stoicheometry, petroleum refining, various manufacturing process technology etc. This program is designed to provide better education in theory and practice. The teaching and learning methods are student oriented. The learning experience is enhanced by the use of techniques such as theory classes, practicals, laboratories, tutorials etc. giving students maximum opportunities to sharpen their skills. Regular Expert lectures by persons from leading Chemical industries are arranged to make students aware of recent technologies used in chemical industries now a days. Regular industrial visits of chemical industries are arranged for the students for their exposure to real industrial environment and awareness of processes involved in chemical industries.

The Department is showing good progress in the Training and Placement. Various companies like Indian Rayon, Reliance Industries, Tata Chemicals, GHCL, GNFC, Essar etc are coming forward for the campus placement of our students.
